Rooted in the cultural mosaic of his L.A. origins, BoNobO thinks of his music as informed by Hip-Hop culture, Latin in its “gusto,” Punk in its attitude toward authority, and Jamaican in it’s sonic force and One Love ethos. Of course, it’s none of those things. But all of it is purely African in its soul. That's the central connecting point, and the musics' origins always inform his sound.
